What’s HAPPENS DURING this workshop?
guided meditation
Our session will open with a guided meditation, in which members will be invited to check in with their physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
psychoeducation
Facilitators Teresa Quinn and Charlotte Waldmeir, both mental health clinicians with advanced training in grief and loss, will provide information and facilitate conversation related to the unique experience of parenting while grieving a parent.
group sharing
This group invites every member to share about their experience, ask questions of other participants, and explore how the information and themes affect them. If you come to group and don’t feel able to share, that is perfectly fine - we will just be happy to have you there with us.
yoga/gentle movement
No previous yoga experience is necessary for this event. You’ll be lead through a series of yoga postures that connect to the theme and energy of the group that evening. You are also welcome to simply sit on your mat and journal, cry, or move in whatever way feels right to your body.
integration meditation and reflection questions
Our time together will end with a short meditation. The meditation from the beginning of the group and additional reflection questions and resources will be emailed to you the day after the workshop.

No. Grief doesn’t follow a specific timeline, so whether your loss occurred recently or decades ago, you are welcome.

Absolutely. Parenting begins while anticipating your baby’s birth, and this workshop will support you in exploring the anticipated shift in identity.

Grief is about change, and losing a parent through estrangement is absolutely a form of loss. You are welcome in this workshop to explore the same questions as someone who has lost a parent through death.

Teresa Quinn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specialized in grief, loss, trauma, and perinatal mental health.
Charlotte Waldmeir is a Licensed Professional Counselor specialized in grief and loss as well as a yoga and meditation teacher at Move Therapy & Wellness.

If you have a yoga mat, you are welcome to bring it. If you don’t, we’ll have extras there for you.
You’re also welcome to bring anything else that helps you feel comfortable and process - a journal, warm beverage, etc.
